". . . Day by day, minute by minute, second by second we went from where we were to where we are now. Time never stands still; it must steadily march on, and with the marching comes the changes. . . The tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleanded surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will - to your surprise - miss them profoundly. . . Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey. . . For one day each of us will run out of tomorrows." -Pres. Thomas S. Monson

Happy 4th of July!

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday, and Kaysville does it the best! We began the day by eating breakfast at the DATC which my father organizes. (Thanks Dad!) Yummy! Then we make our way through thousands of people getting ready for the parade to watch the fanfare from our traditionally marked spot in front of my Grandma Dunford’s home. Our entire family comes. We then prepare ourselves for the water portion as Anthon is always ready to soak us! This year however, there was a little mishap which ended the parade a little short, but it was still fantastic. Hunter didn’t quite understand everything, but he loved the toys Auntie Brooke and Uncle Ryan gave to him as they walked by with their “Bukoos” float. (which, if anyone knows my mom, she keeps in business!) We then went to Ty’s Grandma Rogers house for a BBQ in honor of my brother-in-law, Derek, who just returned home the night before from his mission to Africa. Food, games, and a water fight marked the day well! We made our way back to Kaysville for the grand finale of fireworks! However, Ty and Hunter both crashed from the long day and stayed behind. Which was probably for the best because I’m sure the fireworks would have scared the daylights out of our darling little one Next year buddy! And, that was our fabulous 4th! I’m so proud of the country in which we live and the freedoms we enjoy. Thank you to our brave soldiers!
