". . . Day by day, minute by minute, second by second we went from where we were to where we are now. Time never stands still; it must steadily march on, and with the marching comes the changes. . . The tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleanded surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will - to your surprise - miss them profoundly. . . Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey. . . For one day each of us will run out of tomorrows." -Pres. Thomas S. Monson

Home Again, Home Again. . .

We're back! It's amazing how fast vacations go, isn't it? So much preparation goes into them and then whoosh, it's all over! I know it's going to take me a little bit before I get our pictures up, so I just wanted to post a little blurb. Thanks to our wonderful parents, we had the opportunity to take our little family to the island of Oahu to celebrate Derek coming home and the family being all together. It was so great! We did so many fun activities, and had hours of relaxation by the beautiful pools and sandy beaches. Hunter had the best time. He's our little beach bum now! He couldn't get enough of the water and he did so good on the plane rides. We were so proud of him. I miss the scenery, the humidity, the fruit, the music, the water, the sand, the peace and serenity of the island. It was hard to leave, but being home is great as well. We have been gone this summer more than we have been home, so summer has gone by so fast as well. We have great memories to cherish though!

Martha, Delta, and Breaking Dawn

Okay so I just have to do a little venting. I normally don't do these kinds of posts, but here ya go. . .

For anyone who knows my friend Gina Barton, she would always refer to that 'not-so-wonderful time of the month we women are visited with' to as "Martha". So, as you can see my aggitation is because of woman's best friend, "Martha". I have been very fortunate of not having a visit from Martha for a really long time thanks to my beautiful son. Martha visited in January of '07, and then once again this last May. I have not since had a visit, and I have been done breast-feeding Hunter since he was 6 months. My doctor recommended starting my pill so I could get regulated. I have been taking it for 1 week and who decides to visit?? Martha! She is not supposed to come til week 4! Normally that would be just fine, but as some of you may know we are leaving for Hawaii in 3 days! I'm a little upset! I have not had a visit for months and she decides to come now? What is this?? And to top it all off I feel like my post-partum days are back. Really though I know I'm pretty lucky. Most women have really bad visits from Martha . . . . Okay, so that was enough venting on that. She just better be gone before we leave:)

Now, Delta... So Delta has now officially changed their baggage rules due to the inflation of prices, namely gas. Each passenger can now only have 1 checked bag that weighs no more than 50 lbs. They have always had the weight limit but now that you can only have one bag, complicates matters. Why? Well, when traveling with a child it gets tricky because what counts as a checked bag? A carseat! So, Tyler and I tried a 'practice pack' to see if we could fit everything we need for 3 of us for one week to Hawaii in 2 small carry-ons (which can only be 42" length+width+height) and one checked bag. That didn't work so well. I know it sounds like we should be able to. I thought so myself until we started packing 3 towels, formula, diapers, swim diapers, bathroom supplies, and the like plus our clothes and shoes... not enough room. So, we started looking into other options... Delta charges an extra $50 for each additional checked bag both ways. Yeah right! We looked into those Baby Rental places, but the only one on Oahu charges $36 to rent the car seat for the week, definitely good... but they also charge an extra $35 for drop and then pick-up. Again yeah right! So then we checked with our car rental to see if they offered anything. They rent car seats for $50 for the week with no other fees. Yay! That'll have to work. Still kinda stinky, but it will have to do:) So now I'm done venting...

For the good part of this post. I have the sweetest husband! I've been trying to get unpacked and settled from our last of 4 little trips, get everything figured out for this trip to Hawaii, and the millions of other things we do as moms this week. I've been a little busy and Tyler has noticed. Today as we are doing our "practice pack", he asks me to hand him his suit case which was sitting next to me. It was unzipped, and as I lift it open, I notice a book inside. . . what book may you ask?? Of course, "Breaking Dawn"! I love him so much! He knows that I've been too busy to get it, and I can't wait to start this trip. Please nobody spoil it! :)
